DEAR FRIENDS…

This website has been a labour of love for a few months now.

I built it so that we’d have a nice splashy website for shameless self-promotion. But more importantly, so that we’d have a living and communal set of resources to share and benefit from; kind of like a mini Wikipedia plucked from our collective brains.

It’s a work-in-progress, and I will be improving it as often as I can, but I definitely need help to get the best out of this little endeavour:

01. PRIVACY: If anyone wants anything removed that’s connected to them in any way, email me and I’ll get it down.

02. MEMBERS GALLERY: I built version 1.0 based off of the instagram page. If anyone wants to add their profile, I just need a headshot + bio + external link (to your portfolio or twitter or whatever you want).

03. BLOG: If anyone has articles or thoughts they’d like to publish on the site, email me.

04. WORKS: If you can send me a URL from YouTube or Vimeo, I can link to the video. Work that promotes your writing would be ideal, but feel free to share anything that can help boost your career.

05. PUBLIC-FACING vs GROUP-ONLY: The front half of the website (home, members, works, blog, coming soon) will be public-facing, so that we can get our names/work out there, and hopefully make some impact on the media landscape together. The back-end of the website (events, resources) is a members-only area, where we have a calendar for upcoming events, and all our wiki-style info. Both should be pretty self-explanatory and are super early in development. But if you have any ideas or areas you’d like to contribute to, please do feel free to let me know.

And finally…

0.6 GOOGLE PROMOTIONS TAB: If you could take a second to add our mailing list address (info@ba-wg.com) to your contacts list, that will help us stay out of Google’s “promotions” mailbox, which I know has been a problem for some of you. The more of you that accept that email address as “not shite”, the better for the whole group :D
